Adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH) is cleaved from the precursor pro-opiomelanocortin (POMC). The hormone is produced and secreted by the pituitary gland and stimulates release of cortisol by adrenal glands.

Antibody recognizes ACTH in multiple species and in multiple native applications. A dilution of 5-10 µg/ml is recommended for immunohistochemistry using formalin fixed and paraffin embedded tissues and for 4% paraformaldehyde fixed frozen tissues. A dilution of 5-15 µg/ml is recommended for immunofluorescence. . Biosensis recommends optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user.
